- Girth Size:<\/strong>\n
\n- We need the approximate weight of your horse, or a precise measurement of the heart girth.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- How to measure:<\/strong>\u00a0Wrap a string or horse measuring tape completely around the horse’s heart girth. Start by wrapping it\u00a0over the top of the withers<\/strong>, then\u00a0behind both elbows<\/strong>\u00a0until the string meets.<\/li>\n\n\n\n

- We usually ship via courier: UPS or Fed Ex. Occasionally for rural locations, we will ship USPS or Canada Post.<\/li>\n\n\n\n

- Take a photo of your entire horse. As well, you can take a photo standing at your horse’s head and aimed at the shoulder and saddle panel angle. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Make sure we can see the clearance of the gullet over the wither.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

- Draw this tracing onto paper. Make sure to add the width measurements as shown in the video for the wither tracing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Submit:<\/strong> Send the tracing to Bad Dog Ranch via email or text<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Girth Size:<\/strong>\n
\n- We need the approximate weight of your horse, or a precise measurement of the heart girth.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- How to measure:<\/strong>\u00a0Wrap a string or horse measuring tape completely around the horse’s heart girth. Start by wrapping it\u00a0over the top of the withers<\/strong>, then\u00a0behind both elbows<\/strong>\u00a0until the string meets.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Measure the length of the string in inches<\/strong> and report this number to us.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Required Photos:<\/strong>\n
\n- Side View:<\/strong> Take a full-body photo of your horse standing on fairly level ground. Ensure the horse’s head is straight forward and legs are positioned evenly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Top-Down View:<\/strong> Stand at your horse’s hips and take a photo looking directly down on the spine.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Health & Condition:<\/strong>\n
\n- Provide your horse’s age<\/strong> and current condition<\/strong> (e.g., weight gain\/loss, muscle tone) if known.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\nStep 3: Consultation & Needs Assessment<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\nBefore finalizing the build, discuss your specific situation with us:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n- Style of Riding:<\/strong> Let us know your primary discipline. Even if you have a specific saddle model in mind, we may recommend a better option based on your riding style.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Specific Preferences:<\/strong> If you have a particular saddle model you love, tell us.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Rider Limitations:<\/strong> Disclose any injuries, physical limitations, or saddle-fitting concerns you have. This is critical for deciding on the best saddle model that accommodates your body safely.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Horse Concerns:<\/strong> Mention any known fitting issues your horse has had in the past.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
Step 4: Customize Your Build<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\nSelect the specific features for your new saddle:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n- Horn Preference:<\/strong> Clearly state whether you want a horn<\/strong> or a no-horn<\/strong> saddle.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Leather & Color:<\/strong> Choose your preferred leather type and color.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Tack: <\/strong>Choose from saddle pads<\/a> to breastplates & tack<\/a> that will work with your saddle.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Seat Size:<\/strong> Based on your rider measurements from Step 1.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
Step 5: Place Your Order<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\nOnce all measurements, photos, and preferences are submitted:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n- You can purchase directly on line, or have an invoice sent to you.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- You’ll then receive a confirmation via email. As well, we will let you know how long it will take to get your order ready.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
Step 6: Production & Delivery<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n\n- Saddles are inspected, adjusted, etc in order of saddles on our purchase list. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Upon completion, we will send you a tracking number once it is ready to be shipped.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- We usually ship via courier: UPS or Fed Ex. Occasionally for rural locations, we will ship USPS or Canada Post.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Final Check:<\/strong>\u00a0Inspect the saddle immediately upon receipt to ensure it matches your specifications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
Step 7: Confirming Saddle Fit<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n\n- If you’d like us to check the saddle fit once you have received the saddle, you can do this by sending us photos of the saddle on your horse.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Girth the saddle up on your horse. Have your horse stand on level ground, with legs fairly even and head straight forward. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Take a photo of your entire horse. As well, you can take a photo standing at your horse’s head and aimed at the shoulder and saddle panel angle. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Make sure we can see the clearance of the gullet over the wither.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

- We usually ship via courier: UPS or Fed Ex. Occasionally for rural locations, we will ship USPS or Canada Post.<\/li>\n\n\n\n

- Take a photo of your entire horse. As well, you can take a photo standing at your horse’s head and aimed at the shoulder and saddle panel angle. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
