Moreover, the Outback Poley offers the deepest seat of any saddle in our lineup. In addition, its wider cantle combined with a narrow twist further enhances a secure, stable seat while you’re out on the trail.
A thicker, plush panel sits beneath the saddle, therefore conforming to uneven backs, curved spines, or lighter musculature. As a result, the horse receives extra cushioning while the saddle still accommodates a variety of conformations.

Adjustable Gullet & Synthetic Tree
All Bad Dog Ranch Australian Stock saddles, including the Outback Poley, feature an adjustable gullet built on our innovative synthetic tree.
The lightweight synthetic tree reduces overall saddle weight, while interchangeable gullet plates allow you to fine‑tune the fit for a wide range of horses or accommodate changes in a horse’s shape.
These saddles come with 3 gullet plates of different widths. Currently only available with the no-horn option.
Recommended Pad
For added cushioning, we suggest pairing the saddle with a Bad Dog Ranch Wool Saddle Pad. Pad thickness can be selected to suit the individual needs of your horse.
Fit Process
To ensure a precise fit, we require a wither‑and‑back tracing of the horse you intend to ride. If you have multiple horses, please provide the tracing of the widest horse to achieve the best possible fit.
Side‑view photographs of the horse’s conformation are also invaluable for our evaluation.
